The process of aging

We can accomplish many things with the magic of computers and digital design. In this project, I manipulated previously taken photos to make them appear beat up, vintage, and older. This made seemingly boring and plain compositions turn into beautiful film pieces that cause us to reminisce about our past.

By taking scanned images of crumpled, torn, folded, or burnt pieces of paper I could then go into photoshop and overlay my digital files with the scans. From there I would mesh the scans and photos together using feathering tools, overlays, and filters. Finally, I would finalize each composition by editing things like exposure, contrast, hue, and saturation.
